You Can’t Picture This
I came across this short documentary on rights of photographers (and yes, videographers) in the UK, and it just caught my full attention. First there was the police officer grabbing the camera and claiming he hadn’t done so. Later on, he tells the man behind the camera to shut up. There are also scenes cut in that have a government official stating that there is no law prohibiting photography in public spaces – this in stark contrast to the officers saying otherwise.
I could go on and on about the video, but all my words won’t do it justice – you should just watch the damn thing. You might also want to vote for it on PhotographyVoter or other sites.
For some reason, the video I originally embedded below is voiced over in a language other than English. Reader Paul S has been kind enough to point us to an English version posted on YouTube. I’ve embedded that here, but kept the original embedded below it.

I guess that’s what happens when you don’t hide the fact that you’re using your camera. Shocking? Sad? How would you describe it?
I just hate the fact that the photographers are seen with suspicion.

Strange… I remember the link being in English. I guess it changed at some point since I posted this. I’ve embedded the English version in the post with a brief explanation for the two embedded videos.
I have been browsing the web more than 3 hours today, and this is the best article I’ve come across. I’m a article fiend so I’ve actually seen a lot already.Personally I think, if all webmasters and bloggers made as great content as youhave, the net would bea lot more useful than ever before.
