I stumbled across this post recently and I think it helps prove its title – that Manila isn’t as ugly as we probably think it is. Thanks to the emergence of bike messengers (see the poster on the right), is now a little bit greener. Yes, the air is still filled with smoke, but at least one business isn’t adding to the pollution.
How does it compare to another courier service in town? Let’s break it down:
Based on the price listed at the bottom, Pedala is more cost-efficient – at least for deliveries within the metropolis. How about out-of-town deliveries? Come on – you don’t really expect somebody to deliver a package out of town on only pedal power, do you?
How about speed? There’s no way a bike beats motorized vehicles, right? According the the (forwarded) email message posted by ManilaRat, you can get same day delivery. I don’t think any other courier service around these parts boasts of that speed.
Right now I wish I had a package that needs to be delivered, but I don’t. I’m sure I will soon – maybe I can try these guys out. How about you, need anything delivered?

i am a researcher for a local tv station and we are currently producing a story on pedala. I am particularly looking for someone who resides near white plains, quezon city, who is interested in availing their services. I would like to get an interview with that person. Also, if you know someone who has tried and have found it to be very reliabe and efficient, I would like to interview him or her as well.

I’m definitely interested in their services, but unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to try them out. I never received the email message I mentioned in the post so you might also want to contact Manila Rat.
I just availed of their services today. turnaround from phone call to roundtrip delivery is 2 hours!
I had an item picked up in Libis and delivered to my place in San Juan. The biker was very courteous and I’m very happy with the service. I think I’m going to drop my current “express” courier service and start using PEDALa power.

Unfortunately, I still haven’t availed of their services. The last time I wanted something delivered, my client was all the way in Alabang, and PEDALA doesn’t go that far. Medyo malayo nga naman. I’m sure I’ll be giving them a call again sometime though.
Hello!! I have been using PEDALA for quite some time now. Unfortunately they do not or cannot use the South Super Highway. I don’t think that they are allowed. I had something delivered to Old Balara in Quezon City from Makati and it cost P 100. Same day delivery. I am happy with their service and have recomended them to others.
