Mud

The flood waters may have subsided, but mud still lines many streets. Some places are still almost knee deep in mud that is both slippery and sticky (not to mention stinky) at the same time.

Naruto

I’m not really familiar with the characters, but I know this much – my nephew, Anton, dressed up as Naruto Uzumaki this halloween. That’s him with his mom (dressed up as Sasuke Uchiha) at a halloween party that I suddenly found myself attending. Before I go to the next paragraph though, I might as well tell you that my brother-in-law (my sister’s husband and Anton’s dad) went dressed as Kakashi Hatake. How’s that for family bonding?

Getting back on track, I found myself attending this halloween party that my sister’s in-laws threw because I had to drive another one of my nephews there. I thought I’d bring my camera, stay a few minutes, and take a few shots of my nephew, then head back home. Things didn’t quite go as planned though.

As I drove by the place looking for parking, Richard Simmons waved at me. Inside, I met a tiger, a Spartan, a Barbie doll (complete with a box), an ugly girl, a strange purple fairy, and a whole bunch of other characters. I ended up staying a couple of hours, sampling some fantastic dishes, and shooting some people in fabulous costumes.

Words don’t do justice to this story though – so it’s a good thing I packed my camera.

I love photography – that’s why I started LightChasers Photography. Lately though, I haven’t been shooting as much as I used to. I haven’t really been playing with my camera. I miss doing that.

I took the image above several months back – not because I was hired to, but because I wanted to. I took a whole lot of other images that day. I ended the day exhausted, sunburned, and cursing my allergies, but I didn’t care. I had fun, and that’s what photography is supposed to be, at least to me.

This blog isn’t about showcasing my best images – that’s what LightChasers Photography is for. This blog is simply about having fun with my camera.

Oh, one last note – don’t let the mustard yellow faze you. This theme automatically changes colors based on the image posted. I thought this would turn blue, but I guess I was wrong. Let’s hope I pick a better hue next time.
